AI Engineer

pOur client is looking for an AI engineer to help design, build, test, and run the technical foundations that make artificial intelligence usable in practice. The assignment focuses on creating AI services, agents, retrieval solutions, model integrations, pipelines, observability, and reusable platform building blocks that can be applied in concrete use cases across the organization. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liImplement AI services, agents, retrieval solutions, and API integrations. /li liBuild reusable components for model access, prompting, context management, evaluation, logging, cost tracking, and error handling. /li liSet up automated test and evaluation suites to assess quality, reliability, safety, performance, and cost. /li liApply CI/CD and MLOps/LLMOps practices for versioning, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and rollback. /li liProvide technical support for sandbox environments and proofs of concept. /li liPrepare AI solutions for production in line with architecture, security, and governance requirements. /li liSupport data and platform teams with privacy-safe test data, data flows, and integrations with existing systems. /li liMaintain technical documentation, runbooks, and examples so other teams can reuse the solutions. /li liAnalyse operational issues and implement improvements based on logs, evaluations, feedback, and usage data. /li /ul h3Technical Skills /h3 ul liStrong hands-on experience as a software engineer, platform engineer, ML engineer, or in a similar technical role, ideally with 5 to 8 years of experience. /li liVery strong programming skills, preferably in Python and Java. /li liExperience with APIs, authentication, containers, and automated testing. /li liPractical knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, retrieval, agents, model APIs, and evaluation methods. /li liExperience with CI/CD, Git, infrastructure as code, observability, and cloud or container platforms. /li liStrong attention to security, privacy, documentation, and operational reliability. /li liKnowledge of the public sector, G-Cloud, or an OISZ context is considered an asset. /li /ul h3Profile /h3 ul liYou stay up to date with emerging trends and enjoy experimenting with innovative AI technologies. /li liYou can analyse complex challenges and translate them into pragmatic solutions. /li liYou work smoothly with colleagues from different disciplines, including IT, business, security, and architecture. /li liYou are able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. /li liYou are comfortable structuring, visualising, advising, and supporting multidisciplinary decision-making. /li liYou work in a results-oriented way and help ensure high-quality delivery. /li /ul h3Practical Information /h3 pThe assignment is based in Brussels, with the possibility of part-time teleworking. /p pLanguage
