BI Functional Analyst

h3What you will do /h3pAs a BI Functional Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming business needs into valuable data-driven solutions. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will help shape the data platform capabilities that enable informed decision-making. /ppbUnderstand and support business needs /b /pulliCollaborate with business data analysts, business experts and project stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics and data requirements /liliSupport the refinement and formalisation of business needs, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, consistent and actionable /liliEnsure traceability between business requirements, business rules and delivered data solutions /li /ulpbTranslate business needs into data solutions /b /pulliProduce and maintain functional analyses, business rules and detailed specifications /liliCollaborate closely with business data analysts, business process analysts, data engineers, IT analysts and project teams /liliPrototype and validate business rules with stakeholders /liliEnsure traceability between business requirements, source systems and delivered solutions /li /ulpbDesign data models and information flows /b /pulliContribute to the functional design of enterprise data warehouse, datamart and analytical data models /liliDefine source-to-target mappings and integration logic /liliParticipate in the design of scalable data flows and modern data architectures supporting future business needs /li /ulpbEnsure data quality and solution reliability /b /pulliAnalyse and profile operational data sources /liliIdentify data quality issues and contribute to their resolution /liliValidate the consistency and integrity of business rules throughout the delivery lifecycle /liliEnsure that delivered solutions meet both business expectations and quality standards /li /ulpbSupport solution validation and project success /b /pulliDefine and execute functional tests to validate implemented solutions /liliAssist in defining business-oriented access rights and security requirements /liliAssess impacts, risks, priorities and dependencies related to ongoing initiatives /liliProvide functional expertise and recommendations to project managers and delivery leads /liliContribute to estimating effort, defining scope and identifying mitigation actions when required /liliPromote continuous improvement in data governance, delivery practices and stakeholder collaboration /li /ulpYour key deliverables will include functional design documents, source-to-target mappings, logical data models, test plans, test evidence and issue logs. /ph3What we are looking for /h3pbEssential requirements /b /pulliMaster's degree /liliAt least 8 years of proven experience in the BI or analytics domain /liliAt least 5 years of proven experience as a Business Intelligence/Data Analytics Analyst or Consultant /liliExperience as a BI Functional Analyst in at least two distinct business sectors, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different business contexts /liliProven experience with Erwin Data Modelling tool /liliProven experience with Power BI /liliProven experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) /liliProven experience with SAS Visual Analytics (SAS VA) /liliProven experience in logistics reporting on SAP S/4HANA /liliSenior-level experience with business requirements gathering /liliStrong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex business processes /liliAbility to conceptualise processes and data domains /liliAbility to present your ideas in a clear and structured way /liliExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills /liliAutonomous, proactive and solution-oriented /liliFluent in French or Dutch /li /ulpbDesirable experience /b /pulliCertification or proven experience as a project manager /liliProven experience in a gas and electricity distribution network operator /liliProven experience in utilities /liliProven experience with Exadata /liliProven experience with SAS Data Integration /li /ulpbTechnical knowledge /b /pulliFamiliarity with data modelling concepts (dimensional modelling, star schema, data integration flows) /liliExperience working with reporting, data warehousing and analytical solutions /liliInterest in modern data platforms, cloud technologies and evolving analytics ecosystems is an advantage /li /ulh3The setting /h3pThis assignment runs for one year, starting in October 2026. The role is based in Brussels with a hybrid working model requiring a minimum of three days on-site per week.
