As a player‑coach, the Lead sets high standards for execution, drives team performance, and creates the conditions for sustained, impactful delivery. /p h3What you'll do: /h3 ul liRaise the talent bar — as a people
- and hiring manager, you hire team members with the guidance and support of a more experienced people manager. You recognise excellence and underperformance, despite needing prompting and support at times. /li liExecute and Architect for the future — act as a player‑coach, prioritising and delegating on key projects within your team. Set bar‑raising objectives for your direct reports, and lead execution on specific projects. /li liEngineering Management — oversee small technical projects, balancing player‑coach responsibilities while managing a team of 3+ engineers. You ensure successful project delivery within the team. /li liProject Management — plan and organise the execution of team‑level projects, ensuring they are completed within the defined timeframe and budget. /li liWorkflow Optimization — analyse team workflows to improve efficiency and productivity at the team level. /li liCross Functional Coordination — collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment on small‑scale projects. /li /ul h3Who you are: /h3 ul liYou are proficient in Python and the AI stack (numpy, transformers, LLMs, etc.). /li liYou have at least 4–5 years of relevant experience delivering impactful AI systems, and a decent portion of that leading or coaching engineers. /li liYou are able to plan and oversee execution of team‑level projects, optimising workflows for efficiency. /li liYou can effectively hire, mentor, and develop team members, and provide constructive performance feedback. /li liYou are able to articulate complex technical and organisational trade‑offs to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. /li liYou're based in Belgium and excited to work together with the TechWolf team in our Ghent office at least three days per week. /li /ul h3What's in it for you? /h3 ul liFair competitive salaries – we benchmark our salaries yearly and pay above the market median in every role and location. /li liHybrid working and flexible hours
