Principal System Engineer

h3Job Summary /h3pJob Summary NXP Semiconductors Belgium is seeking a Principal System Engineer to lead the architectural definition, design, and implementation of complex embedded systems, ensuring cutting-edge performance and reliability for our next-generation breakthrough semiconductor products. We are actively looking for motivated and passionate system engineer(s) with prior work experience in system engineering, architecture and IP definition, etc. /ph3Job Responsibilities /h3ulliLead the system-level architecture definition and design for new semiconductor products, encompassing hardware, software, and firmware aspects. /liliPrepare technical documentation – product specifications, datasheets, white papers, presentations, application notes, and develop product demos that highlight the value proposition and advantages of products /liliCollaborate closely with hardware, software, and verification teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of system components. /liliDevelop and implement system-level test plans and strategies to ensure robust functionality and performance. /liliContribute to intellectual property generation through patent disclosures and technical publications. /liliPerform competition benchmarking and product trade-off assessment /liliContribute towards standardization activities /li /ulh3Job Qualifications /h3ulliMaster's degree or Ph.
D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. /lili8+ years of experience in system engineering, with a strong focus on embedded systems and semiconductor product development. /liliExcellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams and can-do attitude /liliSolid experience in wired and wireless communication system design. /liliSolid knowledge of multiple interface specifications like USB, MIPI, I3C, I2C, UART, SPI and GPIO. /liliStrong understanding of digital design fundamentals and RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) /liliGood problem-solving and debugging skills. /liliProficiency in scripting languages (Python, C, C++, MATLAB). /liliExperience in working on ARM/RISC-V core architecture would be an advantage /liliExperience with FPGA-based Pre-Silicon validation Platform development for IP and Subsystems /li /ulpNXP Semiconductors N.
