pWe're looking for a senior API developer to build a compatible replacement using Python and FastAPI. You'll expose database metadata and validate submissions for existing Python loading code, delivering production-quality code, documentation and a summary of gaps and steps towards production. /p h3What you'll do /h3 ul liDefine the critical scope from existing API documentation. /li liBuild metadata endpoints mapped to the existing database schema. /li liImplement submission endpoints with validation and meaningful error responses. /li liImplement authentication, authorisation and secure handling of submitted data. /li liWrite automated tests. /li liDeploy and demonstrate the solution on Ubuntu Linux. /li /ul h3What you bring /h3 ul liPython 3.12+, FastAPI and SOAP and REST API design and development. /li liSQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL, including reading and mapping existing schemas. /li liAPI security: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, API keys, WS-Security and TLS. /li liAutomated testing with pytest. /li liAutonomy with incomplete documentation, pragmatic prioritisation and clear communication. /li liFrench (B1). /li liDutch (B1). /li liEnglish (B2). /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 ul liPolars with SQLAlchemy. /li liuv for package management. /li liAPI compatibility or migration experience. /li liSensitive data handling and GDPR knowledge. /li liLinux deployment experience. /li /ul
