Ghent (hybrid, 2 days in the office) /h3h3About the position /h3pAs a Senior Backend Engineer in one of the bAI focused teams /b , you will help shape the future of intelligent, AI-powered features that enhance how sales teams work. You’ll build and maintain serverless event-driven systems and APIs that integrate with third-party services. You’ll be responsible for driving technical and product decisions based on your expertise, designing solutions that leverage modern AI capabilities to deliver real value to users. Rather than a monolithic environment, you will help develop an ecosystem of services, as you identify and isolate parts of the system to increase reliability and promote quality. Your decisions will not only have an impact on the way we build our product but also on the end-user experience for all our customers. /ph3What You’ll Do /h3ulliDevelop AI-powered features that leverage large language models to automate and enhance user workflows. /liliContribute to improving our development processes and environments. /liliBuild and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and APIs. /liliHelp define, implement, and maintain our growing ecosystem of microservices. /liliWork in software teams where code reviews and pair programming are part of our strong engineering culture. /liliTake a security-first approach to implementing features and changes. /liliCollaborate with and mentor less experienced engineers on best practices and architectures. /liliHave a strong eye on the bigger picture because everything you do will have an impact on 100,000 users globally. /li /ulh3What We’re Looking For Nice to Have /h3ulli5+ years developing scalable, production-ready backend systems. /liliExperience with search and retrieval systems, vector search, semantic search /liliExperience with backend systems for AI/ML-powered products is a plus. /liliStrong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. Experience with JVM languages is a plus. /liliInterest in or experience with AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering. /liliExperience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems (message queues, state machines, asynchronous workflows). /liliExperience working in a cloud environment. Experience working in AWS and familiarity with services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Bedrock, Opensearch, and API Gateway is a plus. /liliUnderstanding the importance of strong software testing at every stage and an advocate for test-driven development. /liliComfortable analyzing, estimating, and prioritizing complex projects. /liliAbility to model data and queries around feature requirements with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
