pbContract: /b Freelancebr/bLocation: /b Belgium /p h3About the role /h3 pOur client, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its team on a freelance contract. The role focuses on extending and maintaining the software that drives wafer and panel metrology products, the systems used to measure and inspect components during semiconductor manufacturing. /p pYou will work across the full development cycle, from gathering requirements and analysing the problem through to implementation, testing, installation and support. Day to day, that means designing and building new features, writing automated tests, developing the tooling that supports the product and tracking down and fixing bugs. /p pThe role also involves supporting colleagues who are not developers, as well as field engineers who use and service the systems. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently within a small team, taking the initiative to move work forward and explaining technical points clearly to a mixed audience. /p h3Main responsibilities /h3 ul liAnalyse, design and implement new features for wafer and panel metrology software /li liCreate automated tests to protect quality and support ongoing developmentDevelop and maintain supporting tooling used by the wider team /li liAnalyse, diagnose and fix bugs /li liTake work through the full development cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, implementation, testing, installation and support /li liCreate and maintain UML models to document designs /li liProvide support to non-developer team members and field engineers /li liWork with version control to manage code changes and collaborate within the team /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 pbEssential /b /p ul li3 to 10 years of experience in a software engineering role /li liGood knowledge of modern C++ /li liExperience of using a version control system, preferably git /li liUnderstanding of UML models and the ability to create them /li liExperience of the full development cycle, from requirements to installation and support /li liGood spoken and written English communication skills /li liAble to work independently within a small team /li liProactive approach, with the initiative to take ownership of tasks /li /ul pbDesirable /b /p ul liKnowledge of C# and/or Python /li liKnowledge of image processing, automation or robotics /li /ul h3The offer /h3 ul liFreelance contract working on software for semiconductor metrology products /li liVaried scope, from new feature development to tooling and support /li liSmall team environment with room to take initiative /li /ul
