pEdge Cloud architect – Experience in Telco industry /ppWe are seeking an Edge Cloud Architect to lead the design and evolution of our telecom edge platform, spanning far-edge sites, central offices, regional data centres, and core cloud. You will architect the infrastructure that hosts cloud-native network functions (CNFs), Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) applications, and enterprise edge services on 5G and converged network. You will work across network engineering, RAN, core, OSS/BSS, security, and product teams to deliver carrier-grade edge capabilities that meet strict latency, availability, and regulatory requirements. /ppThe Edge Cloud Architect should combine telecom network expertise, cloud architecture skills, business acumen, and ecosystem thinking. The role extends beyond platform design to identifying and driving synergies across different programs. /ppLocations : Brussels, Belgium or Amsterdam, Netherlands or Germany /ppBridge business and technical teams by translating expectations into cloud offerings for target segments (B2B, B2B2C, and B2B2B) and defining the technical requirements for each offering. /ppArchitect the hosting of 5G Core functions (UPF, SMF, AMF), vRAN/Open RAN components (CU, DU), and MEC applications on shared cloud-native infrastructure /ppEvaluate emerging technologies (5G/MEC, AI inference at the edge, WebAssembly, serverless edge runtimes) and recommend adoption where they add value /ppContinuously track emerging trends, including AI at the edge, distributed cloud, sovereign cloud, MEC (Multi-access Edge Computing), and network APIs. /ppUnderstand how 5G Core, RAN, and network functions can leverage edge computing, and drive convergence between Edge Cloud and next‑generation mobile technologies (AI-for‑RAN and RAN-for‑AI). /ppStrong understanding of 5G architecture (SA and NSA), including core, RAN, and transport, as well as 4G/LTE fundamentals /ppDeep experience with Kubernetes and telco‑grade extensions (Multus, SR‑IOV, DPDK, real‑time kernels, GPU/SmartNIC/FPGA acceleration) /ppSolid knowledge of carrier networking: IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, SD‑WAN, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, timing and synchronization (PTP/SyncE) /ppFamiliarity with NFV concepts and standards (ETSI NFV, 3GPP, O‑RAN Alliance, TM Forum) /ppLead the selection and integration of edge platforms, container, and Kubernetes distributions (e.g., K3s, KubeEdge, OpenShift), and CDN/edge compute services /ppMaintain a strong understanding of network architecture and the two‑way relationship between cloud and network design: cloud offerings can shape network architecture, while network constraints can determine cloud architecture choices. /ppHands‑on experience deploying cloud‑native or virtualized network functions in a production telecom environment /ppAlign stakeholders across network engineering, IT, cloud teams, enterprise business units, and partners. /ppLook beyond individual projects to identify reusable building blocks across Edge cloud, Telco Cloud, and enterprise cloud offerings. /ppDrive architectural decisions through influence rather than authority, building a shared vision across diverse transformation programs. /ph3Preferred Qualifications /h3ulliExperience with Open RAN and vRAN deployments, and with the RAN Intelligent Controller (near-RT and non-RT RIC) /liliExperience with private 5G / enterprise network solutions or neutral-host environments /liliFamiliarity with Nephio, ONAP, or intent‑based network automation /liliExperience with major telco-cloud platforms (Red Hat OpenShift, Wind River, VMware Telco Cloud, Azure Operator Nexus, AWS for Telecom) /liliKnowledge of edge AI/ML inference and network data analytics (NWDAF) /liliExperience with CDN, video delivery, gaming, or AR/VR workloads at the edge /liliBackground in observability for carrier networks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, streaming telemetry) /liliProgramming experience in Go, Python, or Rust /liliCertifications such as CKA/CKAD, CCIE(good to have), TOGAF, or relevant 3GPP/O-RAN training /li /ul
