h3About Aerospacelab /h3 /brpOur mission is supported by an ambitious vertically integrated approach: design manufacture of small satellites combined with development of earth observation services. /p /brpSince its creation in 2018, the company has already grown substantially. Our team gathers more than 25 engineering expertise, from hardware design to software development data science. /p /brpIn 2026, Aerospacelab counts offices in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Toulouse (France), Lausanne (Switzerland) and US West Coast with more than 450full-time employees, with the ambition to position itself as the European leader in small satellites. /p /brh3Role overview /h3 /brpAerospacelab designs, builds and operates satellites, and more and more of ourdata processing is moving on board. We are looking for an engineer who can turnprocessing algorithms into efficient code on embedded hardware accelerators. /p /brpYou will take algorithms from our processing teams, then port, profile andoptimize them so they run in real time within the power, memory and thermallimits of a satellite. You will work closely with algorithm developers, flightsoftware engineers and hardware engineers. Your code will run in orbit. /p /brh3What you will work on /h3 /brul /brliHigh-throughputsignal processing pipelines. /li /brliImageprocessing chains, from raw sensor data to calibrated products. /li /brliReal-timeprocessing of high-rate sensor data. /li /brliReducingdata volume on board before downlink. /li /br /ul /brh3Our tech stack /h3 /brul /brliLanguages:C++, CUDA and other accelerator frameworks, Python/NumPy for referencemodels. /li /brliPlatform:embedded Linux on heterogeneous computing hardware. /li /brliTooling:GitLab CI, Docker, cmake, performance profilers. /li /br /ul /brh3Key activities /h3 /brul /brliPortreference algorithms (Python/MATLAB) to optimized C++ implementations onhardware accelerators. /li /brliProfileand optimize throughput, latency, memory bandwidth and power consumption. /li /brliWorkwith hardware engineers on how processing is split across computeresources. /li /brliBuildvalidation tests that check optimized code against reference models. /li /brliIntegrateprocessing pipelines with the on-board software. /li /brliWritetechnical documentation and take part in code reviews. /li /br /ul /brh3Must have /h3 /brul /brliBSc,MSc or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, AppliedPhysics or a related field. /li /brliProfessionalexperience programming hardware accelerators (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL, SYCL orHLS). /li /brliSolidunderstanding of parallel architectures: memory hierarchy, data movement, pipelining and parallelism. /li /brliExperienceoptimizing numerical code for performance (SIMD, multithreading, profiling). /li /brliBackgroundin digital signal processing and/or image processing. /li /brliExperiencedeveloping on Linux. /li /brliProficientin English. /li /brliEligibleto work from one of our office locations (Belgium / Switzerland / France). /li /br /ul /brh3Nice to have /h3 /brul /brliExperiencewith embedded accelerator platforms and power-constrained systems. /li /brliKnowledgeof optimized math libraries (FFT, linear algebra). /li /brliExperiencewith heterogeneous designs combining processors, accelerators and FPGAs. /li /brliExperiencein the space sector or with radiation-tolerant computing. /li /br /ul
