Freelance Data Engineer | Cloud

pI'm currently supporting a leading international technology company that is looking for an experienced Freelance Data Engineer to join its growing Data Engineering team in Brussels. /p pThe organisation develops innovative enterprise software solutions, helping businesses manage, govern and maximise the value of their data. Operating in an international, data-driven environment, the company continues to invest in modern cloud technologies, scalable data platforms and AI-driven solutions. /p pAs a Data Engineer, you will contribute to the development, optimisation and maintenance of cloud-based data infrastructure, supporting business-critical applications, analytics and data products. /p pYou will collaborate with data engineers, data architects, software developers and other technical stakeholders to build reliable, scalable and efficient data solutions. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. /li liBuild and optimise cloud-based data solutions. /li liIntegrate data from multiple internal and external sources. /li liDevelop data processing and automation solutions using Python and SQL. /li liWork with modern data warehouses, data lakes and cloud data platforms. /li liImprove data quality, reliability, performance and accessibility. /li liSupport data modelling and transformation processes. /li liAutomate data workflows and contribute to CI/CD processes. /li liMonitor, troubleshoot and optimise existing data pipelines. /li liCollaborate with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders. /li liContribute to data security, governance and documentation initiatives. /li liSupport the ongoing development and modernisation of the organisation's data ecosystem. /li /ul h3Profile /h3 pWe are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong technical background and hands-on experience with modern data technologies. /p h3Core requirements /h3 ul liExperience as a Data Engineer, Cloud Data Engineer, Data Platform Engineer or similar. /li liStrong knowledge of Python and SQL. /li liExperience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines. /li liHands-on experience with AWS, GCP, Azure or another major cloud platform. /li liGood understanding of data modelling, data warehousing and data integration. /li liFamiliarity with data orchestration and workflow automation. /li liExperience with Git and modern software engineering practices. /li liUnderstanding of data quality, security and governance principles. /li liStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. /li liComfortable working in an international engineering environment. /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 pExperience with one or more of the following technologies would be considered an advantage: /p ul liAWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift or Athena. /li liGoogle Cloud Platform and BigQuery. /li liSnowflake, Databricks or other cloud data platforms. /li liApache Airflow, dbt, Apache Spark or PySpark. /li liTerraform or other Infrastructure as Code technologies. /li liDocker, Kubernetes or containerised workloads. /li liCI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. /li /ul pYou do not need experience with every technology listed above.
