And of course, we are always looking for talented people to help us have a positive impact on our industry and beyond /p h3About the role /h3 pThe Senior Legal Counsel serves as a trusted business partner to the organization in Europe, Middle East and Africa, providing pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice across a broad range of commercial, corporate, compliance, and operational matters. The role supports business growth while ensuring legal compliance and managing risk in a fast-paced international environment. /p h3Key responsibilities include /h3 h3Commercial Legal Support /h3 ul liDraft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements. /li liProvide practical legal guidance to commercial teams during contract negotiations. /li liDevelop and maintain standard contract templates and legal playbooks. /li /ul h3Corporate and Business Advisory /h3 ul liAdvise management and business stakeholders on legal matters affecting operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. /li liSupport corporate governance activities and ensure compliance with applicable company policies. /li liParticipate in strategic business projects, acquisitions, integrations, restructurings, and transformation initiatives. /li liIdentify legal risks and propose commercially viable mitigation strategies. /li /ul h3Compliance and Risk Management /h3 ul liPromote adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations. /li liDeliver legal training and awareness programs to business stakeholders /li liSupport investigations and internal compliance reviews when required. /li /ul h3Dispute Resolution and Litigation Management /h3 ul liManage pre-litigation and litigation matters in collaboration with external counsel. /li liAdvise on disputes involving commercial contracts, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. /li liCoordinate legal strategies and oversee external legal spending. /li /ul h3Cross-Functional Collaboration /h3 ul liPartner closely with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, HR, Sustainability, and Digital teams. /li liAct as a key legal contact for regional leadership. /li liCollaborate with the broader global legal network to ensure consistency and sharing of best practices. /li /ul h3A bout you /h3 ul liFluency in English, French and Dutch /li liQualified lawyer in Belgium or another European jurisdiction preferred /li liMinimum 8-12 years of relevant legal experience. /li liExperience gained in a leading international law firm and/or multinational corporation. /li liStrong background in commercial contract law and business advisory. /li liExperience supporting manufacturing, food industry, FMCG, B2B, or industrial environments is highly desirable. /li liExperience working in a matrixed, international organization. /li liDeep expertise in commercial and contract law. /li liSound understanding of corporate and compliance matters. /li liStrong business acumen and ability to translate legal concepts into practical business solutions. /li /ul pAt Barry Callebaut, we are committed to Diversity Inclusion.
