Senior Accountant Benelux | International Environment

Our client, an international professional services firm based in Brussels, is looking for a Senior Accountant Benelux to strengthen its regional finance team.

As Senior Accountant Benelux, you will join a finance team supporting activities across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

This is a broad, hands-on position where you will have genuine ownership rather than being limited to one specific area of accounting.

Working closely with the Senior Finance Manager, you will gain exposure to the full accounting cycle, international entities and various finance projects while becoming a key point of contact within the Benelux finance organisation.

As Senior Accountant Benelux, your responsibilities will include: Manage general ledger accounting and contribute to monthly and year-end closings Prepare reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal entries Handle and review VAT preparation and related reconciliations Follow up on payroll accounting and associated postings Contribute to statutory accounts and regulatory reporting across Benelux entities Coordinate and prepare information for internal and external audits Oversee supplier accounting and expense-related activities Support banking, cash flow, forecasting and working capital activities Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution Work closely with auditors, payroll providers, external accountants and shared service teams Support the Senior Finance Manager on broader finance matters and projects Take ownership of key finance activities when the Senior Finance Manager is unavailable Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls Experience: Several years of solid accounting experience, ideally as a Senior Accountant or experienced GL Accountant within an international, multi-entity or professional services environment Languages: Fluent English and a good command of French are required; Dutch is considered a strong asset Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field As Senior Accountant Benelux, you can expect: An attractive salary package aligned with your experience and seniority A comprehensive package of extra-legal benefits A key position covering Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg Exposure to a complex and international accounting environment The opportunity to work closely with senior finance stakehol...
