Functional Analyst

pThe Functional Analyst plays a key role in identifying business problems and translating business needs into well-defined, feasible functional solutions that can be developed and integrated into the enterprise production environment. /p pThe role involves analyzing business requirements, evaluating solution alternatives (including cost–benefit considerations), and designing detailed functional solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards, and strategic objectives. The Functional Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams throughout the full solution lifecycle. /p h3Language Requirements /h3 pThe role requires bsound knowledge of English /b, plus bat least one local language /b: /p ulliDutch bor /b /liliFrench bor /b /liliEnglish (with at least one additional local language) /li /ul h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Preparation Phase /h3 ulliSupport the business analyst and client in shaping solution options and decision‑making. /liliPropose alternative, appropriate solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, strategy, and cost–benefit considerations. /liliEnsure business stakeholders understand and adhere to enterprise rules and standards (architecture, security, compliance, etc.). /liliCollaborate closely with architects to define and validate the solution architecture. /liliWork in close alignment with the project manager, asset manager, and/or product owner. /liliAct as a central point of coordination between the client, business analyst, and involved asset teams, providing a unified view towards the client and ensuring all IT parties clearly understand the business needs. /li /ul h3Elaboration Phase /h3 ulliTranslate business requirements into detailed functional requirements. /liliAlign with involved asset teams on functional responsibilities and scope. /liliDesign the application solution, clearly identifying impacts across application components in line with the defined architecture. /liliCoordinate with technical teams to specify functional and non‑functional requirements for each component. /li /ul h3Construction Phase /h3 ulliFollow up development and testing activities to ensure alignment with approved functional specifications. /liliDefine and validate technical components supported by multiple teams (e.g. integration layers, queues, security configurations). /liliSupport internal teams and external suppliers during development, integration, and assembly testing (IAT). /liliAnalyze and support resolution of defects identified during testing phases. /liliSupport release and deployment activities across environments (test, acceptance, production). /li /ul h3Post-Go-Live Operations /h3 ulliProvide ad hoc functional support to operational teams and helpdesks once the solution is live. /liliAnalyze production incidents and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders. /liliMaintain and update functional documentation as needed. /li /ul h3Agile Way of Working /h3 pIn an Agile environment, preparation, elaboration, and construction activities are iteratively combined and delivered in sprints. /p pThe Functional Analyst is expected to demonstrate an bAgile mindset /b, including: /p ulliA positive, pragmatic, and solution‑oriented attitude /liliContinuous learning and active knowledge sharing /liliFocus on team success over individual contribution /liliViewing feedback as an opportunity for improvement rather than failure /li /ul pAgile teams are cross‑functional.
