De Watergroep seeks an experienced senior OT Solution Architect to map and structure its existing OT landscape. The environment has evolved historically and contains multiple generations of technologies, brands and types. The purpose is to establish a reliable technical basis for defining the on-call service. The resulting architecture must show scope, complexity, dependencies, risks and the expertise needed to respond effectively to incidents.

The architect analyzes existing documentation and validates information with internal staff, suppliers and other technical stakeholders. Targeted technical verification is required where existing information is incomplete, outdated or unreliable. The conceptual framework comprises Field Level, Control Level, Supervisory Level, Communication Level, Integration Level, Development & Configuration Level, and Access & Security Level. Architecture diagrams are produced in ArchiMate® at an abstraction level appropriate to diagnosis, intervention, recovery and escalation.

The architect reports to the Enterprise Architect and works closely with the Operations Systems and Process Automation Team (Team Exploitatie Systemen en Procesautomatisatie). The mission runs from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2027 with a 55% work regime and an estimated 960 hours. Homeworking is possible, and workdays are agreed according to project needs and may vary weekly. The location is listed as Centrale Directie without a city, and candidate selection weights quality and price equally.

Detailed Responsibilities and Skills

Additional Responsibilities

  • Produce ArchiMate® architecture diagrams of the existing OT environment.
  • Maintain the abstraction level needed for effective incident response, identifying systems, key dependencies and expertise for diagnosis, intervention, recovery or escalation.
  • Record relevant systems and components individually and logically group comparable components where individual registration adds no value.
  • Deliver a structured overview of the existing OT landscape according to the agreed architecture layers.
  • Deliver an inventory of relevant OT technologies, devices and assets with characteristics needed for incident response.
  • Deliver ArchiMate® diagrams showing key systems, communication links, integrations and technical dependencies.
  • Deliver an overview of intervention prerequisites: development and configuration environments, software versions, licences, backups, access options and dependencies on suppliers or specialists.
  • Deliver an overview of relevant missing, insufficiently reliable or unverified information.
  • Report to the Enterprise Architect and collaborate closely with Team Exploitatie Systemen en Procesautomatisatie.
  • At least 5 years at senior level in complex environments with incomplete, outdated or not fully reliable documentation.
  • At least 5 years at senior level demonstrating good communication and collecting and validating information with different technical stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years at senior level distinguishing technical detail from information actually needed for effective incident response.
  • Dutch proficiency at European
