Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a System Engineer to provide advanced operational support for Linux-based IT infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring system stability and performance while driving continuous improvement through automation and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Provide advanced operational support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for Linux-based IT infrastructure.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including provisioning and patching via Red Hat Satellite .
- Implement system changes and routine maintenance following established processes and standards.
- Drive automation and operational reliability using Ansible Automation Platform and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain secure, compliant, and well-monitored environments.
- Participate in R&D initiatives to evaluate new technologies and develop solution prototypes.
- 4+ years of experience managing Linux-based infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux lifecycle management and Red Hat Satellite .
- Strong expertise in Ansible Automation Platform , including playbooks, roles, and automation workflows.
- You bring experience with Podman or OCI containers and container lifecycle operations.
- You possess familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control using GitLab or Azure DevOps .
- You're experienced in working within structured ITIL -aligned processes like incident, problem, and change management.
- You have a strong focus on performance tuning, OS-level diagnostics, and monitoring-driven operations.
- You possess a native level of Dutch or French with professional working proficiency in English .
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to database technologies such as Oracle , MySQL , or PostgreSQL .
- Experience with VMware virtual environments and NetApp storage systems.
- Knowledge of security tools like Trend Micro Deep Security or ClamAV .
- Familiarity with network platforms including Palo Alto , Check Point , F5 , or InfoBlox .
- Knowledge of German .

- Working model: Hybrid (remote policy applicable with occasional travel to Berlin)
