By collecting, analyzing, and reporting on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, you will empower our stakeholders with transparent insights into our sustainability performance. You will have the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement in our sustainability reporting processes.

As our Sustainability Reporting Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our sustainability journey, making a meaningful impact every step of the way.

The position will directly report to the VP Finance.

Your role and responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the non-financial sustainability reporting obligations of the company. This includes ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy, CSDDD, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), … as well as internal governance requirements. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors to stakeholders both internally and externally. Additionally, you will work closely with various departments within the company to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy and transparency in reporting. Your role will also involve staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices to continuously improve the company's sustainability reporting processes.​

Your task is to structure, develop, and implement the CSRD reporting plan:

In close collaboration with external advisors and relevant internal departments in the company, you will ensure the right foundation of data and drive the data collection processes. You will ensure the final output is in compliance with regulatory requirements and audit proof. Your task responsibilities include:

Create the data structure according to the ESRS standards

Follow-up and ensure closure of process gaps towards compliance with the CSRD in Annual Report

Ensure CSRD compliance (non-financial reporting) 

As part of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) implementation project team, you will lead / support the preparation of the future CSRD disclosures in the annual report including alignment with the auditors, given that CSRD is an entirely new regulatory framework for which market practice and additional guidance are still being developed, your expertise in financial reporting will be essential as you act as a "coach" and collaborate with various stakeholders and management teams, aligning on materiality assessments, defining reporting processes and identifying CSRD reporting requirements.

EU Taxonomy Reporting: You will lead / support EU Taxonomy reporting as part of the annual report and develop yourself into a subject matter expert in EU Taxonomy.

Sustainability reporting Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring our reporting practices adhere to current and upcoming ESG standards and regulations will be an essential part of your responsibilities.​

Data-Driven Reporting: You will identify reporting and data requirements pertinent to ESG reporting, fostering a more data-driven approach to enhance the quality and impact of our disclosures.​

Ownership of ESG reporting in the Annual Report: You will own / support the overall disclosures in the Annual Report in relation to sustainability reporting ensuring that they are compliant with relevant standards and regulations (IFRS, CSRD, CBAM, ISSB, EU Taxonomy and others that will arise in the future).

Furthermore, as Sustainability Reporting Specialist you will support in putting plans and policies into action to ensure the organization meets its regulatory non-financial reporting obligations toward all relevant internal stakeholders and ensure external audit compliance of the CSRD reporting.

How to succeed / Your profile

Your passion for sustainability, your project management and data analytics skills are key factors for success in this position. You will work cross functional and must be curious in understanding the business processes leading to the strong data foundation for reporting the right data. Furthermore, good communication skills will be expected to introduce and drive the implementation plan.

Experience in (non-)financial or sustainability reporting, extensive knowledge in external reporting and compliance and a passion for ESG reporting.

Experience in working in an international environment

Master degree in Accounting, Sustainable Finance or Economics

Experience with interpretation of EU regulatory developments and preferably have experience with ESG reporting

Collaborate and Build Partnerships

Communicate Effectively and Professionally

Accurate and able to work independently

Affinity to reporting analytics and being enthusiastic about data driven reporting

Fluent in the English language (both written and verbally) and preferably Dutch as well.
