For our underground gas storage facility in Loenhout () we’re looking for a Safety Engineer Storage (m/f/x).

At our underground storage facility in Loenhout, natural gas is stored at a depth of more than one kilometre. This storage capacity is sold to energy suppliers and traders to enable them to store natural gas. This gives them a flexible source of natural gas and allows them to build up a buffer to ensure the continuity of deliveries to end users.

Your
respon­sibilities

You will be responsible for our site's safety documentation. To this end, you will produce and keep up to date process safety documentation and process safety studies, both during day-to-day operations and during the preparations for and implementation of small and large projects For our Seveso site you will be the point of contact for the authorities and you will take the lead during periodic audits In collaboration with the corporate emergency plan coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing the emergency plan for our site and you will ensure that everyone is trained accordingly. You will maintain close contacts with the external fire brigade As a Safety Engineer you will also take on the role of health and safety advisor. As such, you will report to the head of the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work

You have a master's degree in industrial sciences (industrial engineering) or equivalent experience You are familiar with industrial safety Knowledge of the Seveso and Planop regulation would be a plus You have a level 2 health and safety advisor diploma or you are willing to obtain it You are assertive and meticulous, take the initiative and can find pragmatic solutions You establish contacts easily and have good communication skills You are fluent in Dutch and French and have good knowledge of English

Additionally, this role requires:
