Civil Project Engineer

FunctieAs a Civil / Construction Engineer in Herstal, you will assume a crucial role in the realisation of various industrial construction projects. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of the project, from design to execution.
As a Civil project engineer, you will join an international engineering and project management partner headquartered in Tienen. In this position, your focus is on the execution of our industrial projects, ranging from small improvements to large industrial constructions (civil)

Responsibilities

• Being in close contact with the client to identify client needs
• Determine the conceptual design in consultation with the client & internal team
• Lead the civil engineering phase of the project
• Instruct team members such as designers, CAD engineers and strength calculators
• Organising and leading 3D reviews with the client, technical and commercial procurement meetings
• Managing contractors during deliveries and on-site installation
• You will provide necessary input to the CAD-BIM designers, checking and reviewing construction drawings.
• Performing project management tasks, such as monitoring deadlines, budgets and quality standards.

Profiel en vaardigheden

• You hold a master's degree in Industrial Sciences Construction Engineering, civil engineer or construction engineer or industrial engineer construction engineering or similar through experience in the industrial sector.
• You have strong technical knowledge and are able to understand and execute complex construction projects.
• Work Experience in this area is necessary (with e.g. stability studies or construction aspects of projects, civil design, civil engineering, installations, buildings, tank foundations, pipe racks,...)
• You are able to convert your theoretical knowledge into a pragmatic approach to arrive at the most technical, economical and execution-oriented design.
• Experience in project management is a plus. You know how to coordinate a project from A to Z, and can also put this into practice.
• You have excellent communication skills. In this job, you will regularly need to consult with colleagues, customers and suppliers. It is therefore important that you can communicate clearly.
• You will be working in an internationally operating organisation, so logically the internal language is English.
• Finally, you have strong problem-solving skills. When a problem arises, you are the one who analyses the situation and comes up with an appropriate solution.
• You have demonstrable experience with 2D & 3D design software
• You will definitely have an advantage if you have experience with the following programmes: Inventor, Plant 3D, Advance Steel, Revit, Navisworks, Recap, CadWorx, Caesar II and Bricscad
