Now,we are looking for a Fire Protection Engineer in our office in Belgium.

He/shewill be responsible for conducting fire protection design, fire safety audits,developing fire safety plans, support the design of remediation plans accordingto fire safety procedures and norms.

What is the role About?

•Designpassive and active fire protection systems for new and existing buildings, incompliance with local (Belgian) fire codes and regulations

•Workin closed collaboration with discipline engineers (HVAC, Utilities,Electricity, Architect, structural and infrastructure engineers…) to insure atransversal view about the fire regulation.

•Singlepoint of contact with fire brigade & Administration & Fire Insurance

•Performsite visits to assess the need for fire protection system upgrades ormodifications.

•Preparedetailed reports and risk analysis (Hazop, Hazid, FailureTrees, AMDEC,… )

•Preparecost estimates for proposed fire protection system designs or upgrade

•Reviewingbuilding plans to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.

•Developfire safety plans and evacuation procedures.

•Keepabreast of new developments in fire protection technology and methods.

•Inspectingfacilities to determine fire hazards and recommending solutions to eliminatehazards.

•Providetraining to project managers and disciplined engineers to increase theknowledge in fire engineering.

•Maintainrecords of fire protection system inspections and tests

•Organization,planification and assistance for receptions of the installations with thenotified bodies

Requirements

Master’s degree in fire protection engineering,mechanical engineering, or related field
Min. 5 years of experience in fire protectionengineering
Thorough knowledge of building and fire Belgian codes
Familiarity with Belgian, European and NFPA standards
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication, writing, and presentationskills
Fluent in French or Flemish and English.
The works is foreseen in Belgium, regularly ondifferent sites. Home-working partially possible.
