The DB specialist have the ultimate responsibility of physical and applicative database administration activities supporting end2end life cycle of product from database perspective

What will your job look like?

Your role and main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Setup and configure relational databases on Linux/Windows or in the Cloud; Setup backup and restore mechanisms of the databases; Convert database structures and application data from legacy databases (Adabas, IDMS, VSAM, DB2 zOS) to the equivalent RDBMS structures in SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Execute in depth data conversion and runtime database access issue analysis – that should result in a clear description of the root cause of the problem for the RnD team; Perform database performance analysis, and tune runtime and data loading performance where applicable.

In this role you work closely together with our Project Manager assigned to the project, and other Factory team members, and RnD product specialists.

All you need is...

You are a database specialist with extensive experience with at least one of the leading RDMBS products. At the same time you are open to work with other databases as well. You like to analyze issues and suggest solutions (both temporary to get the project moving forward, and long term that can be integrated within the solutions).

Considered a Must:

An analytical mind that likes to tackle problems and cannot rest until a solution is found; A can-do attitude; Proven experience with installing, configuring and tuning Oracle/PostgreSQL/SQLServer and their eco-system of tools; Proven in depth experience with SQL; Good verbal and written communication skills; Fluent in English;

Considered a Plus:

Knowledge of a legacy database (VSAM, IDMS, Adabas); Knowledge of Python or PowerShell; Knowledge of Cloud Technology;
