Soterics is an OT security lifecycle partner. We help industrial organisations understand, improve, and manage their operational technology cyber posture — from assessment to continuous monitoring and program management. Alongside our managed services, we’ve built a growing product portfolio: Vigilant (OT decision intelligence), Vestoria (OT cyber maturity assessment), and Vanguard (OT Exposure management).

Our development team is in its starting shoes. We’re looking for reinforcement to help build new products and keep the current portfolio stable, secure, and shippable.

Your mission: to build the delivery and operations foundation that lets a small team ship real products to industrial customers — reliably, securely, and continuously.

Duties and Responsibilities1. Build & Delivery

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, security scanning, and deployment across the product portfolio

• Own infrastructure as code, containerisation, environment management, and secrets handling

• Support developers in shipping continuously without breaking things

• Contribute to architectural decisions on new product development, not just implement them

2. Reliability & Quality Control

• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting so problems surface before customers find them

• Embed quality gates into the delivery process — automated testing, code quality standards, release criteria — instead of treating quality as an inspection step at the end

• Take ownership of what leaves the door, including reliability, maintainability, and observability

3. Security & Business Alignment

• Apply security practices around authentication, authorisation, data protection, dependency management, and secure deployment. We sell security; our own products are held to that standard.

• Translate product and commercial needs into pragmatic technical solutions

• Push back when a technical request doesn’t serve the underlying business need, and explain why

• Help lay the foundation for a larger development team with clear processes and standards

General Profile

• 4–8 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform, or software engineering, with real systems shipped and operated

• Strong across the full stack: cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP), CI/CD, IaC, containers, monitoring

• Range over narrow depth — enough technical breadth to connect the pieces and make sound decisions across them, rather than deep expertise in one segment only

• Solid grounding in IT security: secure development practices, network and infrastructure security, access and identity management, vulnerability and patch management

• OT security exposure is a strong plus — industrial or ICS environments, and frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIS2, or ISO 27001

• Independent and self-directing. The team is small and early; you identify what needs doing and move, rather than waiting to be told.

• A clear communicator who connects technical depth with business impact

• Uses AI tooling to accelerate development, debugging, documentation, and testing — while validating the output critically

• A working, documented CI/CD and deployment foundation across the product portfolio

• Meaningful reduction in manual release effort and deployment incidents

• Monitoring and alerting in place, with clear ownership of production health

• Security scanning and quality gates embedded in the standard delivery flow
