Senior Devops Engineer, Level 1 (near-site, Brussels) - MAIA

Position: Devops Engineer.

Minimum post-secundary education required: at least 3 years of university studies attested by a diploma.

Minimum professional experience required: a minimum of 4 years of post-academic professional experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust DevOps pipelines to support efficient Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes across the software development lifecycle.

  • Automate application deployment, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflows to ensure reliable, repeatable, and scalable software releases.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain services and applications, ensuring they are optimized for production environments, availability, performance, and reliability.

  • Manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, ensuring scalability, resilience, and efficient resource utilization.

  • Implement, configure, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the continuous health, availability, and performance of applications and infrastructure.

  • Monitor production environments, investigate incidents, and coordinate timely resolution of operational issues while contributing to continuous service improvement.

  • Optimize application and infrastructure performance through capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive system enhancements.

  • Integrate security best practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle by implementing secure CI/CD pipelines, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and configuration hardening.

  • Develop and maintain Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) and self-service capabilities to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software stack upgrades, infrastructure migrations, and platform modernization initiatives while minimizing service disruption.

  • Collaborate closely with software development teams, architects, system administrators, security specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions.

Specific expertise:

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps methodologies and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and configuration management solutions including Ansible.

  • Experience implementing secure secrets management solutions, particularly HashiCorp Vault.

  • Solid administration experience with Linux-based environments.

  • Experience with DevOps lifecycle and source code management platforms, including GitLab, GitHub, and Atlassian tools.

  • Strong knowledge of static application security testing (SAST) and code quality tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Snyk, or equivalent.

  • Experience managing artifact repositories using tools such as Nexus or equivalent repository management platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, and logging solutions, including Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent technologies.

  • Experience developing and maintaining Internal Developer Platforms using solutions such as Backstage, Humanitec, or similar frameworks.

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML, Ruby, or Perl.
