Mission

As the O2C Credit Management Director, you are the strategic and operational leader responsible for defining and executing the credit and collections strategy of Carrefour Belgium. Together with your team of 15 employees, you ensure a healthy cash position and an optimal return on capital (ROC). You build a sustainable and financially sound partnership with franchise partners, suppliers, and customers, and you steer towards operational excellence across the entire Order-to-Cash process.

Responsibilities

  • Credit and Financial Policy: You define and optimize the financial strategy, credit policy, and collections strategy towards franchisees, suppliers, and various customers. You determine credit limits and methods to cover financial risks (such as guarantees and credit insurance).
  • Partner & Customer Excellence: You systematically guide franchise partners regarding financial parameters at every stage of the collaboration (from start-up profitability studies to follow-up during and after the collaboration). You make decisions on financial interventions, installment plans, and financing methods (such as leasing or reverse factoring).
  • Operational & Invoicing Management: You bear ultimate responsibility for the timely, accurate, and legally compliant preparation and processing of all outgoing invoices and rental income/expenses (totaling approximately €3.25 billion per year). You continuously optimize the end-to-end (E2E) invoicing process.
  • Stakeholder Management: You set up the factoring agreement with the bank and prepare the financial committees with the Regional and Zone Directors. You work closely with internal departments such as Legal, Real Estate (Immo), Expansion, and Business Control.
  • People Leadership: You lead, motivate, and develop a team of 15 professionals in line with the Carrefour leadership model. You stimulate a feedback culture, monitor internal communication, and promote diversity within the team.

Profile

  • Education & Experience: You hold a university Master's degree in economics or accounting and have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge: You have a thorough knowledge of Belgian accounting legislation and taxation.
  • Entrepreneurship & Communication: You have a strong ability to collaborate successfully with independent entrepreneurs (franchisees). You possess excellent communication skills and can translate complex financial files into an understandable summary for non-financial audiences.
  • Analytical & Strategic: You effortlessly link financial data to operational reality and translate this into concrete action plans. You score highly on strategic vision, result orientation, and organizational skills.
  • Language Skills: Given the national context of the role, you are bilingual (Dutch and French).
