One of our client, a Brussel's based bank, is looking for an Interim Head of Legal to start as soon as possible until end of September 2026.
What Will You Do?
• Ensure quality legal support: contract review, analysis and advice to operational departments.
• To monitor the evolution of Belgian banking and financial regulations, as well as the relevant provisions of the Code of Economic Law (mortgage loans, consumer credits, commercial practices, etc.).
• Propose pragmatic and solution-oriented interpretations. Management and coordination
• Supervise and support a team of 4 Legal Advisors specialized (payments, taxation, GDPR, civil law, etc.).
• Organize the distribution of files, ensure the quality and consistency of the deliverables.
• Support the development of employees' skills and professional development.
• Coordinate the implementation of impactful regulations in collaboration with the Head of Legal & Compliance. Cross-cutting contribution
• Work closely with the Head of Legal & Compliance.
• Participate in the bank's cross-functional projects to ensure compliance.
• Play a relay role between the team and the other departments by providing a constructive and pragmatic vision.
The ideal profile:
-Master's degree in law, ideally with a specialization or experience in banking law, economic law or credit law.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, including proven experience in team management.
- Good knowledge of the banking sector and Belgian financial regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to popularize the law to non-legal interlocutors.
- Critical thinking, rigor and solution-oriented, with ease in a fast-paced environment.
- Perfectly bilingual FR/NL, English is an asset.
