Chemours is seeking a Simulation & Design Specialist - Thermodynamics & HVACR Systems to join our Thermal & Specialized Solutions team. This position can be performed remotely from Spain, Italy, Germany, France or Belgium.

Are you passionate about thermodynamics, system modelling and the future of sustainable heating and cooling?
At Chemours, you will play a key role in helping OEMs and customers across Europe adapt HVACR, heat pump and refrigeration systems to the next generation of lower-GWP refrigerants. As regulations and market expectations continue to change, many manufacturers are facing complex technical questions: How will a new refrigerant behave in their system? What needs to change in the design? How do they maintain performance, safety and efficiency?
This is where your expertise comes in.
In this role, you will use advanced simulation and modelling tools such as Dymola, Modelica, MATLAB/Simulink and Python to model thermodynamic systems, validate performance and translate complex simulation outcomes into practical engineering recommendations. You will work closely with Technical Marketing, Product Development, Application Engineering, R&D, Sales, Sustainability, Regulatory Affairs and OEM partners across Europe.
This is not a role where simulation is used only to confirm decisions that have already been made. You will help shape technical recommendations, support customer decision-making and contribute to the adoption of climate-friendly cooling and heating solutions.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develop, maintain and validate dynamic simulation models for heat pump, refrigeration, air conditioning and thermal management systems.

Build and deploy simulation models using Dymola, Modelica, MATLAB/Simulink, Python and related engineering tools.

Perform thermodynamic system simulations and optimization studies focused on energy efficiency, refrigerant selection, system performance, control strategies and safety considerations.

Support OEMs and customers in understanding how Chemours refrigerants perform in their systems and what design changes may be required.

Analyze laboratory, field-test and customer data to validate models and improve predictive accuracy.

Evaluate compressors, heat exchangers, expansion devices, refrigerants, thermal storage systems and control architectures.

Provide technical recommendations related to refrigerant glide, pressure and temperature behavior, system efficiency and performance trade-offs.

Support the development, qualification and adoption of lower-GWP refrigerants and future HVACR system architectures.

Collaborate with customers, OEMs, suppliers, engineering partners and research organizations across Europe.

Prepare technical reports, simulation methodologies, engineering recommendations and customer-facing presentations.

Provide simulation and thermodynamics expertise to Technical Marketing, Product Development, Commercial, Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs teams.

Contribute to technology roadmaps and identify emerging trends in heat pumps, refrigeration, air conditioning and thermal management technologies.
