With ambitious growth plans for the years to come, we are looking to strenghten our Business Controlling team. EGI has offices in Belgium, Germany, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Malaysia, Canada and the US, operating globally to empower clients in meeting the challenges of tomorrow’s energy landscape.
Your function
As International Business Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial and business operations across multiple jurisdictions. You will be responsible for, the preparation and analysis of financial reports, business control functions, the monitoring of customer projects and optimizing the group’s financial efficiency. You will be supported in these tasks by the newly formed Shared Service Center (SSC) of EGI's parent company; Elia Group, in charge of accounting; tax and treasury matters. You will be part of a team composed of the CFO and three Business Controllers.
The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a proactive attitude to support the organization’s strategic business and financial objectives.

Your function

Financial Operations & Analysis
- Analyse financial data and prepare accurate, timely reports about each entity of EGI as well as the consolidated financials’ analysis, with the support of the SSC.
- Analyse EGI's consolidated financials and prepare meaningful reports and analysis to steer the company such as Pricing analysis, HR costs, Billability, ...
- Develop and maintain EGI's BP and financial model (FP&A)
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals.
- Support the SSC in annual audits and liaise with external auditors as needed for EGI entities worldwide.
- Support the SSC in the preparation of tax filings and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with the other Business Controller to ensure consistency and accuracy across reports, while each managing independent areas.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure that all transactions are accurately captured in the general ledger;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop precise project budgets and financial forecasts for your portfolio.
- Provide regular financial updates to project managers and senior leadership within your portfolio.
- Continuously track actual expenses against budgeted amounts, proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Provide financial forecasts that support both short-term decision-making and long-term strategy within your portfolio.
- Assist in the development of financial models and business plans for new projects within your portfolio.
- Address client inquiries related to your portfolio’s finances and assist in resolving any concerns.
- Implement and manage robust internal control systems and processes.
- Collaborate in transition to a new ERP system, ensuring it meets company needs and enhances financial and project management.
- Proactively introduce new ideas and improvements, unafraid to challenge the status quo when necessary.
- Work with internal and external clients to ensure all financial transactions are accurately captured.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards across the countries where EGI is present.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Master’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in Financial Reporting, FP&A, Controlling, Strategy and/or Audit
- International exposure and Entrepreneurial/Start Up mindset
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret financial reports and legal document
