Your future role

As a Production Team Leader, you will ensure the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the production area. This involves leading and developing shop floor teams, coordinating daily production activities, and promoting excellence in order to achieve production, quality, productivity and cost targets through effective people management while maintaining the highest standards of product quality, safety and GMP compliance.

In this role, you will be assigned the following tasks:

Shift Production Management:

  • You will drive the performance of the production area during your shift by ensuring production targets are achieved while monitor compliance with safety, quality, hygiene, and quality regulations.
  • You will oversee production processes and apply technical knowledge related to chocolate manufacturing.
  • You will manage inventory procedures to ensure accurate stock levels at all times using the ERP system.
  • You will contribute to the achievement of KPIs related to productivity, capacity, quality, safety, cost control, GMP, and production planning.

Team Communication & Management

  • You will organize production activities and support the execution of production schedules to meet operational requirements.
  • You will conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, address performance issues, and recognize achievements.
  • You will train, coach, and support line leaders and operators to develop their skills and ensure operational flexibility.
  • You will communicate safety, quality, production, or planning incidents and contribute to identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • You will complete production documentation, enter production data accurately, and ensure effective shift handovers.
  • You will participate in operational meetings and collaborate with other departments such as Maintenance, Quality and R&D.

The profile we are looking for:

  • You have a background in Industrial Sciences, Food Sciences, or equivalent experience in team management within a production environment, ideally in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • You have operational experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the sectors mentioned above.
  • You have a very good command of French and can communicate in Dutch. Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
  • You are willing to work in a rotating shift system alternating between morning and afternoon shifts.
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office and production tools and processes.
  • You have experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • You have knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • You have the ability to adjust equipment settings and support basic troubleshooting activities.
  • You have the ability to use computerized production systems and interpret production and control data.
  • You are analytical, solution-oriented and driven by data and results.
  • You are able to anticipate operational needs, prioritize effectively, and support your team in achieving objectives.
  • You are autonomous, organized, and resilient under pressure.
  • You are an effective communicator and an active listener with strong people management skills.
  • You are motivated by challenges and continuous improvement.
