To strengthen our Asset Management Department, we are looking for a talented and self-motivated individual to fill the Global Engineering Expert â Infrastructure, Civil Works position based in Braine lâAlleud (Belgium).

 

About the role :

You will ensure that cGMPs, SOPs, Company Procedures and Good Engineering Practices (including Construction Safety and Green aspects) are appropriately integrated in all UCB standards, guidelines and best practices youâre involved in. You will participate and support the feasibility study and build the conceptual design for new projects incoming, and be a key actor in the transformation of our sites.

 

What you will do :

Under this scope, the Global Engineering Expert â Infrastructure and Civil Works :

  • Defines, develops & deploys technical standards (including EHS & Facilities)taking accounts regulations, business constraints, safety & green aspects to make our buildings safer and greener (by design tools, BREEAM and/or LEED certifications).
  • Develops a Competency Matrix at a global level and ensures the technical âfollow-upâ of all projects managed by the Global Engineering.
  • Develops EHS and Facilities standards but also solutions including internal client expectations and needs.
  • Leads and connects a Global Network of Experts (in & out UCB) and constantly assessing and seeking best practices.
  • Is a proactive part of the technical project (CAPEX & sustaining) by delivering standard, expertise and performing technical reviews, but also plays an active part the Asset management strategy by developing (with the Global asset manager) gap assessment tools and methodology.

 

Interested? For this position youâll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

MUST HAVE

 

  • Masterâs degree in Civil/Industrial Engineering or Architecture or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum 5 year-experience in projects of different scale and complexity in the industry sector.
  • Technical experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of chemical, pharmaceutical and/or biological engineering operations is seen as a big asset.
  • Good understanding of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) and Quality aspects.
  • Experience in large and complex projects as well as both formal and informal leadership and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of all technical aspects of tertiary building.
  • An ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Full professional proficiency in French and English (both oral and written)
  • Willing to travel up to 1 week every 2 months as maximum (mainly across Europe)

 

NICE TO HAVE

 

  • Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents is an added value.
  • Knowledge of BREEAM and/or LEED certifications in an asset.
  • Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and EPCM (Engineering,
  • Knowledge of Bio Safety Levels requirements (up to BSL2) and its impact on own discipline is an added value.
