To strengthen our Information Technology team, based at our HQ, in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of IT Lead Automation Engineer

Within the global UCB IT organization, the IT Devops Automation team is playing a crucial role in managing the CI/CD toolchain landscape with the goal to enable automation of IT applications across several functional domains focusing on delivering value to patients. 

As IT Lead Automation Engineer you define the service offering for DevOps Automation team while providing guidance to stakeholders, you understand and own the CI/CD technology landscape, drive automation at scale, enable self-service and introduce the best practices for ensuring the technical excellence of automation while being the reference point of contact for a pool of external resources. You stay up to date about the most recent and emerging technologies on the market.

 

What Youâll Do

  • Collaborate with UCB stakeholders to enhance workflow and contribute to UCB strategy.
  • Identify, recommend, design, and optimize automation solutions.
  • Develop best practices, standards, and accelerators for automation services and products.
  • Provide expertise during project initiation and execution, ensuring stakeholder consensus.
  • Oversee automation development, ensuring technical excellence.
  • Master agile and automation principles, coaching and enabling other IT departments in line with Digital Transformation objectives.

 

Interested? For this position youâll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • 5+ yearsâ experience in Enterprise IT organizations.
  • Practical experience with DevOps, agile practices, and automation tools.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in implementing robust automation solutions and leveraging AI (e.g., AIOps, code-driven automation).
  • Proficiency in coding automation pipelines, Python, and custom application development.
  • Mastery of the application lifecycle management (SDLC) and enabling automation at scale in an enterprise context.
