Function

 

As Offshore Interconnector Operations & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the daily follow-up and management activities of current and future offshore interconnectors. In a first phase, the focus will be on the Nemo Link HVDC interconnector connecting the Belgian high-voltage grid with the British high-voltage grid between Herdersbrug (BE) and Richborough (UK). The future interconnectors that will be constructed in the scope of the Princess Elisabeth energy island will also be added to your responsibility. You will accompany the project phase in alignment with the cable asset manager.

 

Your core duties include:

  • Day-to-day follow-up of management activities linked to the exploitation of an interconnector;
  • Being an integral part of the Nemo Link operations team and scrupulously performing and following up all tasks;
  • Acting as the point of contact between the Interconnector Operations team and the Elia Offshore team;
  • Close internal cooperation with the Cable Asset & Method Manager and the Offshore Geo & Consent Manager so that their expertise can be maximized;
  • OPEX budget follow-up, including best estimates exercises and financial reporting;
  • Follow up on all Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
  • Follow up on all legal and permitting obligations for the operation of an interconnector (cable section);
  • Stakeholder management and maintaining close contacts with other interconnector operators;
  • Preparing, participating and following up on all operational meetings;
  • Management of the Cable Risk Register, performing risk analyses and risk management plans;
  • Active participation in transversal workgroups and initiatives regarding offshore-related topics and future projects.
Your Profile

 

  • You have a degree in civil or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • You have a few years of experience in a similar position; experience with offshore projects and/or offshore O&M would be an asset.
  • You have strong organisational and communication skills, and you can work independently and autonomously.
  • You are willing to take on responsibility and assume ownership.
  • You have strategic thinking skills.
  • You have a highly analytical mind, you have a keen interest in technical matters and you have good problem-solving skills.
  • You speak fluent Dutch and English; a good knowledge of French and German would be an asset.
  • You are an easy-going and assertive team player.
  • You are flexible and willing to travel abroad occasionally.
