Elia Group works since many years on becoming a data driven Group, as more data is generated every day, and a fair portion of those data remain unexploited to date to develop insights for our businesses, to measure and report the impacts of our operations on our performance, our financials and on the society that we serve. Putting the data to work for Elia Group to become more impactful, efficient, and mindful of the changing world is the aspiration of the corporate departments.
Data is therefore key to support operational, tactical, and strategical activities and decisions and to enable the realization of our strategic ambitions while maintaining a high level of operational excellence. We need to ensure the data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable.
Within the corporate departments we hence also need to ramp up our data skills and work on ensuring the produced data are qualitative to derive meaningful insights and enable our different strategic ambitions.
In that context, we are looking for a Business data steward covering the domain of Procurement, a role that consists in governing data on behalf of others and in the best interests of the organization. The Data Steward defines and monitors KPIs related to the quality of the data management activities in a scope of assigned data. The Data Steward leads actions for the improvement of these KPIs.
As member of the Procurement team, you play a central role in developing and implementing data management strategies. You contribute to the design and optimization of data workflows.
Your key tasks:
- Work with business units and process experts to resolve master data issues,
- Support the business with required procedures, submit incidents and change requests when needed,
- Automate the above activities where possible,
- Participate in projects/products and initiatives across multiple functional areas and countries,
- In coordination with MD governance authority
- Ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency of master data across business systems,
- Assist business process experts in defining standard operating procedures, process flows and related documentation,
- Create and oversee governing policies around material codes, service masters, material groups, procurement groups and other procurement master data,
- Document, maintain and sponsor MD rules and standards,
- Manage Data Quality KPI’s and dashboard,
- Maintain a business glossary, if necessary,
- Maintain Data Governance communication channels,
- Align on Data Governance and Data Management, strategies, vision, and model.
- Exchange & connect to the Data steward Community and share your experiences with this community.

Your Profile
- Previous master data management experience in SAP,
- 3+ years’ experience in master data management preferably in global projects/companies,
- Experience in data governance methodology
- Strong Microsoft Office suite skills,
- Knowledge in Procurement domain
- Able to understand and investigate topics related to multiple business areas,
- Analytically minded and methodical problem solver,
- Able to efficiently prioritize work and timely inform stakeholders on the progress,
- FR or NL + EN
- Strong written and communication skills
- IT oriented
