Do you want to work on groundbreaking projects that transform farming machinery and help feed the world more efficiently?Our client, a fast-growing leader in agricultural machinery based in West Flanders, is searching for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering team.About the Role:You’ll be a key player in the full mechanical design lifecycle—from conceptualization and CAD modeling to prototyping and testing. You will work on smart agricultural machinery projects, including:IoT-enabled equipment: integrating sensors and telemetry for precision farmingAutomation & robotics: developing autonomous systems for planting, harvesting, and soil managementSustainable solutions: designing energy-efficient, low-emission machinery componentsYour expertise will help shape durable, reliable, and cutting-edge agricultural machinery that meets the evolving needs of farmers worldwide.Key Responsibilities:Lead mechanical design efforts using advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawingsCollaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systemsConduct structural analysis, stress testing, and materials selection to guarantee safety and durability under harsh agricultural conditionsManage prototyping phases, including overseeing build, testing, and validation of new machinery componentsContinuously improve existing designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standardsDocument technical specifications and support regulatory certification processesWhat You Bring:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline3+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally within agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, or roboticsProficiency in 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks preferred) and familiarity with FEA toolsStrong understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, casting, machining) and materials scienceExperience with automation systems and embedded hardware integration is a big plusExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to innovate under real-world constraintsFluent in English; Dutch or French language skills are advantageousWhy Join This Company?This is your chance to be part of a forward-thinking agricultural technology pioneer committed to sustainability, innovation, and improving farming worldwide.
