European Finance Manager

The European Finance Manager role is a key finance leadership position within the Biotechnology Research sector, based in Hasselt. This exciting opportunity combines hands-on financial management, strategic insight, and people leadership across multiple European entities. The position allows a finance professional to directly influence financial performance, support business decisions, and drive operational excellence while mentoring and developing local finance teams. Your responsibilities as an European Finance Manager : Prepare and review monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis Lead local month-end close activities with a hands-on approach Ensure statutory, VAT, and tax compliance with external advisor support where required Manage intercompany reconciliations and contribute to group consolidation Maintain ownership of trial balance accuracy and balance sheet integrity Process or support journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations in lean local structures Collaborate with AP/AR and administrative teams to manage cash flow, collections, and payments Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in finance processes Build trusted relationships with local leadership teams as a finance partner Communicate financial insights clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders Influence decisions and guide teams without direct authority Mentor and support finance professionals across Belgium and the Netherlands Foster collaboration, accountability, and performance in remote teams Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of finance talent as needed About you : You bring experience in management accounting or financial management You demonstrate strong leadership and people management capability You are comfortable working in international or complex environments You enjoy owning and improving finance processes You communicate confidently and support informed decision-making You think strategically and apply financial insight to commercial outcomes You take accountability seriously and act with integrity under pressure You collaborate naturally and adapt communication styles to diverse stakeholders You lead by example and support the development of others You value confidentiality, ethics, and strong financial governance The offer : Yearly base salary around 80,000 EUR Target bonus 10% Company car Pension plan and life insurance cover (4x base salary) Private healthcare coverage (individual plan) Flexible working hours to support work-life balance Fast growing organization where entrepreneurship is rewarded This is...
