The European Finance Manager role is a key finance leadership position within the Biotechnology Research sector, based in Hasselt. This exciting opportunity combines hands-on financial management, strategic insight, and people leadership across multiple European entities. The position allows a finance professional to directly influence financial performance, support business decisions, and drive operational excellence while mentoring and developing local finance teams. Your responsibilities as an European Finance Manager :Prepare and review monthly management accounts with clear variance analysisLead local month-end close activities with a hands-on approachEnsure statutory, VAT, and tax compliance with external advisor support where requiredManage intercompany reconciliations and contribute to group consolidationMaintain ownership of trial balance accuracy and balance sheet integrityProcess or support journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations in lean local structuresCollaborate with AP/AR and administrative teams to manage cash flow, collections, and paymentsIdentify inefficiencies and implement improvements in finance processesBuild trusted relationships with local leadership teams as a finance partnerCommunicate financial insights clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholdersInfluence decisions and guide teams without direct authorityMentor and support finance professionals across Belgium and the NetherlandsFoster collaboration, accountability, and performance in remote teamsSupport recruitment, onboarding, and development of finance talent as needed About you :You bring experience in management accounting or financial managementYou demonstrate strong leadership and people management capabilityYou are comfortable working in international or complex environmentsYou enjoy owning and improving finance processesYou communicate confidently and support informed decision-makingYou think strategically and apply financial insight to commercial outcomesYou take accountability seriously and act with integrity under pressureYou collaborate naturally and adapt communication styles to diverse stakeholdersYou lead by example and support the development of othersYou value confidentiality, ethics, and strong financial governance The offer :Yearly base salary around 80,000 EURTarget bonus 10%Company carPension plan and life insurance cover (4x base salary)Private healthcare coverage (individual plan)Flexible working hours to support work-life balanceFast growing organization where entrepreneurship is rewarded This is a career-defining opportunity for a European Finance Manager to make a meaningful impact on financial performance across Europe.
