Freelance Maintenance Technician

For a global manufacturing customer in Ghent, we are searching for a freelance Maintenance Technician to support production operations at their plant. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for responding to machine and line breakdowns, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults, and ensuring minimal downtime of production equipment.The role requires strong hands-on electrical and mechanical knowledge, the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, and the flexibility to intervene quickly when issues arise on the production line.ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly to breakdowns or faults on production lines and machineryTroubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on machines and installationsAnalyze faults and determine corrective actions, including setting up backup systems or alternative solutions when requiredRead, understand, and work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawingsDiagnose issues related to electric motors, sensors, actuators, and control componentsPerform mechanical repairs such as adjustments, replacements, and alignmentsSupport preventive and corrective maintenance activitiesCommunicate clearly with production teams to ensure safe and efficient interventionsCarry and respond to a company phone during shifts to handle urgent technical issuesFollow all safety, quality, and operational procedures within the plantProfileSolid understanding of electrical motors and how they operateAbility to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematicsKnowledge of sensors, switches, relays, and basic control componentsExperience in electrical fault finding and troubleshooting in an industrial environmentGood mechanical knowledge related to industrial machineryAbility to diagnose and repair mechanical failuresExperience with basic mechanical systems such as drives, bearings, and assembliesAdditional DetailsSENIORITY: Medior/SeniorSTART DATE: FebruaryDURATION: 6 MonthsEXTENSION: YesCONTRACT: FreelanceLOCATION: GhentONSITE POLICY: 5 days per weekSHIFTS: 5am – 1.30pm / 1pm – 9.30pmLANGUAGES: Fluent DutchINTERVIEW PROCESS: 1 stageIf you are interested, please forward your updated resume to jay.kukoyi@vividresourcing.com to be considered.
