We're looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support a major industrial site in Ghent on a long‐term freelance basis. If you enjoy solving complex electrical issues, keeping high‐value assets running smoothly, and coordinating with multiple contractors, this role will suityou perfectly.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electricity grid up to a maximum voltage level of 150 kV. You ensure that the network functions reliably and safely and are responsible for the operational availability of:• The lighting network• Fire detection systems• Frequency converters (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, etc.)• Controls for various types of power switches (Siemens, ABB, etc.)In this role, you will support the maintenance department within your field of expertise, both in non-daily maintenance and in complex malfunctions.Develop Root cause analyses and structural solutions. Based on your expertise, you will provide technical advice to various departments, including the project department and production.Small-scale maintenance-related projects will also form part of your remit.For each of these areas, you can count on the support of a specialised team, either directly or via their supervisors.Maintenance and legislationYou draw up maintenance plans within your field of expertise, in accordance with applicable standards and legislation (such as AREI and ATEX), and ensure that these remain up to date and are correctly implemented.You monitor that installations remain within their prescribed service life and take proactive initiatives to extend their service life or renew installations in a timely manner.TrainingAs the person responsible for electrical installations for the entire site, you provide training on BA4 & BA5 and keep track of the certificates obtained.Education and knowledge:Strong theoretical background in electrical engineering. with practical applicationNice to HaveDutch language skills (not mandatory but beneficial)Experience working in multi‐contractor environmentsFamiliarity with large industrial or utility‐scale electrical systemsLocationGhent, BelgiumOn‐site roleContract Details12‐month freelance contractCompetitive day rateOpportunity to work on a technically challenging, high‐impact project5 days a week, 40 hours
