Senior Payroll Specialist – Impact & Process OptimizationPayroll is more than just numbers and deadlines for you. You combine operational excellence with analytical insight and take ownership of cases, processes, and improvement initiatives.You will be part of a close-knit, human, and supportive payroll team, where collaboration is central, but there is also room to think business-wise and make a real impact.Your ResponsibilitiesOperational Payroll ManagementTake responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process for a complex employee population (blue- and white-collar workers) in a corporate environment (400+ employees).Process and review timesheets, absences, and payroll input (pre- and post-payroll).Manage payroll batches (red, blue, green) with attention to accuracy, timing, and compliance.Ensure correct calculation and processing of salaries, holiday pay, year-end bonuses, and legal benefits.Actively monitor and resolve payroll and personnel cases, with a focus on quality and service.Proactive Employee ServiceServe as the first point of contact for employees regarding salary, social legislation, benefits, and personnel files.Communicate clearly and effectively on complex payroll and HR matters.Maintain contact with external institutions (hospitalization, work accidents, time credit, etc.).Process Optimization & Making an ImpactSet up, optimize, and document payroll processes with a focus on best practices.Critically analyze existing procedures and actively propose improvements.Harmonize and optimize processes (e.g., benefits, fleet management, time registration).Assist in or prepare system migrations (e.g., Protime).Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and input for budget management (experience with E-Blox is essential).Knowledge & ComplianceStay continuously up-to-date with developments in social legislation and payroll.Ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and internal policies.Contribute to quality, safety, well-being, and sustainable work practices.Who Are We Looking For?We are not looking for a typical executor, but a payroll professional with ownership:You think proactively and dare to ask: “What is the impact of this decision?”You combine a hands-on mentality with analytical and problem-solving thinking.You take responsibility and follow up on cases independently.You feel comfortable in a human and supportive team, while demonstrating professional maturity and business insight.Your CompetenciesCollaboration and knowledge sharing – “None of us is as smart as all of us”Clear and connecting communication and feedback – “Transparency builds trust”Strong time and priority management – “Focus to accelerate”Self-reflection and resilience – “Be better every day”Analytical thinking and solution-finding – “Can’t is not an option”Ownership and personal leadership – “Own the problem”Your Experience & KnowledgeAt least 4 years of relevant experience as a Payroll / HR Officer.Experience in a corporate environment with complex payroll (minimum 400 employees).In-depth knowledge of payroll for blue- and white-collar workers.Experience with E-Blox (mandatory).Knowledge of pre- and post-payroll, benefits, reporting, and budget management.Experience with time registration systems (Protime is a plus).Languages: Dutch and French (communicative).International payroll experience is a plus.EducationMinimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in an HR-related field.What to ExpectA challenging payroll role with significant responsibility and impact.A warm, engaged, and professional team from whom you can learn a lot.Space to improve processes and truly make a difference.An environment where quality, humanity, and business go hand in hand.
