Looking for a Lead Security Engineer to embed security at the core of a next-generation blockchain infrastructure protocol. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role for someone who wants real technical ownership. You’ll need to have proven experience working directly on DeFi protocols, ideally Layer‑1 or Layer‑2. Bonus points for Bitcoin or COSMOS. This is a leading L2 project that is highly regarded in the space, and has received investment of over $100m in the last 12 months alone. They are a Staking Protocol, specifically focused on BTC and expanding its use case beyond a financial instrument. The latest offering is a trustless vault product, so Solidity & DeFi knowledge is essential. What you’ll do: Own security across protocols, crypto, code, algorithms and operational deployments Review architecture and drive security strategy from threat‑modeling to release approvals Perform hands‑on code review (Solidity, Rust) Embed security thinking into product development Lead collaborations with external researchers, smart‑contract audits, and bug bounty teams Evangelize strong security culture across an agile, remote‑first engineering team Looking for: Strong, recent experience securing production‑grade DeFi protocols (staking, vaults, lending, restaking, or similar). Deep expertise in Solidity smart contract security and protocol‑level risk analysis. Proven ability to find and fix high‑severity vulnerabilities in real systems. Experience influencing engineering design, not just auditing finished code. Comfortable operating with high ownership, low structure, and fast iteration. Nice to Have: Bitcoin protocol familiarity or exposure to Bitcoin‑centric primitives. Rust and/or Cosmos SDK experience. ZK cryptography exposure. Infrastructure or key‑management security experience. You’ll be securing a Bitcoin‑native staking platform at the frontier of web3 innovation — full ownership, global impact, and vaulted collaborators — massive upside, real mission.
