Data Management Expert Freelance

We are proud to be the trusted advisor of many EU and BE companies like Electrolux, KONE, Fluvius, Touring, etc. We are now looking for a freelance Master Data Expert for future short and medium term missions at Field Service in Motion located in Brussels. The candidate should be certified in the DAMA - Data Management Association - frameworks and practices. You will work with internal and client stakeholders across Service Operations, Finance, and IT. Your mission: lead and deliver DAMA-based maturity scans; build recommendations to our clients; assist our client in implementing new data governance framework. Your main responsibilities Lead DAMA Data Management Maturity (DMM) audits: assess current data management practices, identify gaps, and benchmark against DAMA best practices. Map and analyze end‐to‐end data flows and master data repositories (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Opera, Maestro). Evaluate and improve data governance, data quality, and data architecture across fragmented systems. Define and implement data ownership, stewardship roles, and governance policies. Recommend pragmatic actions and roadmaps to improve data maturity across 11 DAMA disciplines (e.g., Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Security, etc.). Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment of data strategy with business objectives. Support the roll-out of new data management processes, including training, documentation, and adoption tracking. Monitor KPIs to measure realized benefits and drive continuous improvement in data management. Contribute to intelligent automation initiatives by ensuring data readiness and quality for automation use cases. Profile we are looking for 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or business analysis, ideally in service operations or field service environments. DAMA certification (CDMP or equivalent) is required. Proven experience conducting DAMA DMM audits or similar data maturity assessments. Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data architecture frameworks. Experience with SAP/CRM/FSM/ERP platforms and their role in supporting operational processes. Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills; comfortable leading workshops in French and/or Dutch. English is a plus. Available 2-3 days/ week in Brussels (depending on the mission) Structured, proactive, and pragmatic; able to thrive in fast-moving environments with high autonomy.
