RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will assist in teaching activities of the department, including supervising exercise classes and teaching mathematics, computer science, or statistics courses.
- You will counsel Master's students in their exercises, work placement, and Master's dissertation.
- You will counsel doctoral students.
- You will assist in the internal and external services of the department, the faculty, and the university.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a doctoral degree (preferably Doctor of Science: Mathematics, Doctor of Science: Computer Science, or Doctor of Statistical Data Analysis) or a subject relevant by the selection committee.
- The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted.
- You have already conducted research in mathematics, computer science, or statistics, closely related to a research domain of the department, as evident from your scientific publications.
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher during your doctorate.
- You are profoundly interested in coaching students in the Bachelor's, Master's, and/or Advanced Master's programmes.
- You can present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated.
- You have excellent teaching and communication skills.
- You show interest in services in the context of activities of the department.
- You are fluent in Dutch, both in writing and speaking.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years, with a possibility of a second appointment of up to 3 years, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term.
- Your appointment will start on 1 September 2025 at the earliest.
