  • Synergizing our ways of working is one of the six strategic drivers of BESIX Forward. Procurement is clearly a domain where possible synergies can be found and leveraged with short and long-term benefits.

To continue identifying and realizing improvements, a network of dedicated procurement experts is now gradually put in place. Called the Category Experts, these experts will support the business thanks to their specific category knowledge and share best practices across the Group. These experts will be present both at regional and global levels.

To save costs and improve strategy for all purchases, BESIX wants to promote internal talent mobility in our organization, allowing employees to expand and enhance their careers and competencies.

The Global Category Manager Facades, Exterior & Interior Finishing is the leader of the procurement strategy and the recognized expert in procurement. He/she will leverage BESIX assets to define a strategy in category sourcing that ensures competitiveness and profitability of the Group.

Key responsibilities:

Core Tasks

  • Define procurement strategy for his/her respective category in collaboration with stakeholders (technical, business…) and promote it within businesses.
  • Define strategic partners and manage vendor relationships.
  • Manage Vendor Directory for his/her category.
  • Initiate, negotiate, manage and promote vendors' framework agreements at BESIX Group level.
  • Coordinate and animate buyers' network inside BESIX Group for his/her category.
  • Support Tendering teams by providing vendors and market prices visibility.
  • Support project execution for BESIX Contracting and Regionals with adapted strategic inputs and negotiation support or responsibility.
  • Drive regular market screening to adjust Vendor panel development.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for price reduction (Tendering & Execution) according to objectives, including group synergies.
  • Challenge specifications with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and out-of-the-box thinking.

Mission and responsibilities

  • Define procurement strategy for his/her respective category in collaboration with stakeholders (projects, technical, business…) and associated vendor panel, with a yearly spend of €100 million.
  • Focus activities and his/her time 75% on Facades or Exterior finishing and 25% on Interior finishing.
  • Support competitiveness with Tendering teams.
  • Support profitability during project execution.
  • Responsible for identifying and applying synergies and cost reduction within BESIX Group and the procurement community.
  • Support innovation capture with vendors and promote it inside relevant businesses.
  • Strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Qualifications

Background

  • Master's degree – Engineering is a plus.
  • Procurement certification/degree is a plus.
  • 10 years' experience in the category (as buyer or technical expert).
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in a supply-chain role.
  • Business acumen.
  • Convincing and Influencing skills.
  • Professional knowledge of English.
  • Professional knowledge of Dutch and/or French.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Open and active listening.
  • Willingness to travel.
