The European Parliament is looking for a highly experienced Senior AI Web Developer to join DG COMM and contribute to a new strategic initiative within the Director’s team. This role is critical to supporting staff in accessing, understanding, and leveraging institutional knowledge while significantly increasing operational efficiency. We are looking for a solid, hands-on expert with strong past experience in AI system design and deployment. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and implement AI solutions including: Retrieval pipelines (RAG architectures) Model orchestration Advanced prompt engineering strategies Configure, fine-tune, and integrate AI and generative models tailored to specific business use cases Experiment with retrieval strategies, prompt designs, architectures, and model parameters to optimise performance and output quality Perform data preprocessing and analysis; gather, clean, and structure datasets for AI applications Evaluate AI outputs, analyse results, and iteratively refine models and pipelines Ensure AI systems are compliant, scalable, efficient, and capable of handling large data volumes or near real-time processing Contribute to data engineering activities supporting AI and Generative AI solutions Collaborate closely with business units, clients, and IT teams to align AI solutions with organisational objectives Required Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum 8 years of professional experience in AI development and software engineering Proven hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of AI systems, including Generative AI Strong experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures (document ingestion, retrieval, generation pipelines) Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs or open-source models (prompting, orchestration, configuration) Solid experience in data analysis and data structuring for AI applications Demonstrated ability to design effective prompt templates and system instructions adapted to specific business use cases and tone of voice Experience implementing or integrating AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) Strong knowledge of data storage solutions (SQL, NoSQL, data lakes) Excellent programming skills in Python What We’re Looking For A reliable senior professional with a strong track record Ability to work in a high-level strategic environment Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills Ability to translate business needs into robust AI solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills Why Join This Project?
