This position is open to candidates who have their residence in Belgium.

We are building state-of-the-art mobile security solutions that will significantly impact all our current and future OneSpan products and solutions. As a Principal Android Developer, you will join our mobile team in our R&D office based in Brussels, Belgium. This position requires you to be at the office 3 days per week.

You will actively create seamless, secure solutions using the latest best practices, ensuring OneSpan stays at the forefront of the industry by collaborating with other software engineers, product architects, security specialists, and other stakeholders. We expect you to bring enthusiasm and dedication to delivering high-quality solutions, continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate. You Will
  1. Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of security-related mobile applications and other software components on Android.
  2. Identify technologies and tools that enhance user experience and streamline development.
  3. Actively contribute to all stages of the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, and testing.
  4. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (unit tests, UI tests) to enhance development efficiency and code quality.
  5. Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  6. Utilize Agile methodologies to drive rapid iteration, adapt to change, and continuously improve processes and documentation.
  7. Ensure the highest level of mobile security, trust, and user experience by maintaining excellent code quality and adhering to best practices.
You Will Have
  1. A higher degree in computer science or a related field.
  2. Technical project management or lead experience.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Android development.
  4. Proven experience working within an Agile environment.
  5. Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and Java.
  6. Solid understanding of Android SDK and mobile app architecture.
  7. Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and modern third-party libraries such as Retrofit, Kotlin Coroutines, Moshi, Hilt/Koin, and Room.
  8. Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  9. Strong communication and leadership skills.
  10. Excellent organizational skills and a great team spirit.
  11. Fluent knowledge of English.
Nice to Have
  1. Experience with Jetpack Compose.
  2. Familiarity with mobile security principles and experience in developing secure applications.
  3. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX designers, and other developers.
  4. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (unit tests, UI tests).
  5. Knowledge of project management and version control tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab).
