General Ledger Accountant – Leuven

On behalf of our client, a fast-growing network active in the medical sector, headquartered in the Leuven area and expanding across Belgium and neighboring countries, we are currently recruiting a General Ledger Accountant to strengthen their finance team.

Responsibilities

Manage the general ledger for multiple entities within the group, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and provisions.
Carry out monthly, quarterly and annual closings in line with group deadlines.
Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
Support VAT compliance and liaise with external tax advisors.
Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors.
Contribute to intercompany reconciliations and reporting across the group's entities.
Support the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
Collaborate closely with the Finance team and other departments to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Profile

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in a General Ledger or accounting role, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and VAT regulations.
Proficient with accounting software/ERP systems and Excel.
Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good working knowledge of English.
Analytical, precise, and comfortable managing deadlines.
A team player who thrives in a dynamic, growing organisation.
