For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer Windows for a long-term freelance assignment.
Assignment Details
- Start date: 01/10/2026
- Duration: 220 man-days
- Location: Brussels
- Work arrangement: 5 days/week on-site – no remote work
- Languages: Dutch & English – mandatory | French – nice to have
- Working hours: Flexible
- Security clearance: Willingness to obtain Top Secret security clearance and undergo a security screening
- Nationality: Belgian nationality required
MUST-HAVE
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Windows DevOps Engineer
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows (workstation and server)
- Expert knowledge of PowerShell scripting
- Expert knowledge of VMware
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SCCM
- Expert knowledge of Exchange
- Expert knowledge of LDAP
- Good knowledge of storage, networking and cybersecurity
- Experience with Windows auditing and hardening
- Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis, such as ELK Stack
- Knowledge of backup and restore technologies
- Knowledge of Active Directory, user management, DFS, Git, GitLab and Event Viewer
- Experience with troubleshooting complex system issues, performance tuning and high-availability solutions
- Good knowledge of DevOps principles and Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or Lean
- Knowledge of IT Service Management / ITIL v4
- Experience with EDR and Zero Trust
- Experience maintaining an up-to-date infrastructure inventory

NICE-TO-HAVE
- Microsoft Windows certification(s) xirbnpk
- Experience with Docker and/or Podman
- Knowledge of Linux
- Experience leading projects or teams
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior engineers
- Experience collaborating with multiple teams to improve DevOps processes
- French, if Dutch is the main language
