This is an 18-month project where you’ll join a high-impact security engineering team, helping to secure and evolve the network backbone of a major organization. As a Junior Network Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing the security of central network environments. Your work will directly protect thousands of networks, ensuring stability, compliance, and resilience for our client’s digital infrastructure. The stakes are high: your expertise will help prevent incidents, safeguard sensitive data, and enable secure digital transformation. What You’ll Be Doing Proactively identify vulnerabilities in network setups and propose effective security measures Deliver third‑line support for change requests and incident management via ticketing systems Participate actively in security projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams Respond to and resolve operational and security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption Manage and maintain multi‑layer firewall environments across thousands of networks Oversee DNS/domain and public CA certificate lifecycle management (LCM) Administer reverse proxies for load balancing, redirects, and logging Manage VPN solutions (GlobalProtect, Ivanti Connect Secure) for employees and third parties Efficiently retrieve and analyze logs using Splunk Collaborate with other security teams to enhance overall security infrastructure Contribute to the development and implementation of security procedures and processes What We’re Looking For Demonstrable experience as a network specialist (minimum 1 year, junior level) Hands‑on experience with network infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, Fortigate, Palo Alto Networks & Panorama) Experience with system administration and configuration for networking technologies Bulk management of DNS and certificates (Sectigo/Harica CA), including Infoblox Experience with VPN solutions (GlobalProtect, Ivanti Connect Secure/Secure Access) Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, routing, and switching Experience with reverse proxies and load balancers (F5 BIG‑IP preferred) Familiarity with ITSM tools (Freshservice) Experience with log management and analysis (Splunk) Exposure to public sector environments is a plus Experience with CrushFTP is an advantage Ownership mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a drive for impact Ability to work collaboratively and support other security domains Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is required Ready to build the future with us?
