Driveline Plant Resident Engineer

As a Driveline Plant Resident Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and innovation of our high-tech transmission systems. About the Role As a Driveline Plant Resident Engineer, you will be part of the expert team within the Driveline Component Product Line. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and the Quality Department. In this role, you are the problem solver and technical advisor who translates complex inquiries from production and suppliers into robust, structural solutions. Your focus lies on analyzing technical issues, reducing complexity, and monitoring the quality of crucial Driveline components. Whether assessing a design change, optimizing an assembly process, or validating new parts: you ensure our end products continue to perform at the highest level. What will you do? You work closely with the production department to collect and thoroughly analyze specific requests for complexity reduction and technical deviations. Based on various analysis reports, you study major changes to existing designs with the aim of increasing the robustness and reliability of both the product and the assembly process. You evaluate restocking and resourcing plans at the request of the commodity department, analyzing the technical impact and estimating the required R&D budget. In collaboration with the logistics and commodity departments, you assess the use of new or modified parts in terms of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and specific application requirements. You take the lead on detailed design studies of transmission components, working intensively with internal colleagues and external engineering partners. You determine the most suitable approach for validating new designs in compliance with internal quality standards and product-specific test procedures. Through regular consultation, you provide direct support to the industrial assembly process on the production floor. You conduct frequent technical consultations with suppliers to ensure their implementation aligns seamlessly with drawings and original design intent. You analyze quality reports of mechanical components and evaluate them against relevant mechanical industry standards (such as ISO and AGMA). Who are you? We are looking for a technical expert who is confident, analytically strong, and communicates effectively at various levels within an industrial environment. You hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). You have proven experience with transmission configurations (such as DCT, CVT, FPS, SPS), axles, and drivelines within the automotive, heavy-duty, or machinery industries. You are experienced with DFMEA processes, Design Reviews, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Specific experience with development and testing methods of Driveline systems is required. Experience with project management and drawing release procedures is essential. You have a broad knowledge of vehicle or machine functionalities, including control logic, synchronization, and hydraulic systems. You are familiar with mechanical standards (ISO/AGMA) and interpreting quality reports. You are knowledgeable about engineering BOM systems and product structures. You are fluent in English, both spoken and written. You are willing to travel regularly (primarily internationally) for short periods (2–5 days per trip). What do we offer?
