About the Role

heta is building an AI-supported fiber network design, planning, and management platform. As a Back-End Developer, you will focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power our application. You will work within our FastAPI stack and take full ownership of services: from implementation to deployment and monitoring. You enjoy designing APIs, crafting clean architectures, working with asynchronous workloads, and ensuring reliable operations.

If you’re curious about DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation, this role offers significant space to grow. Within our compact, fast-moving engineering team, you’ll contribute to backend foundations, operational excellence, and the integration of AI-driven features across the platform, while actively shaping how we build and operate our systems. What You’ll Do Backend Engineering Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python. Collaborate on API design aligned with OpenAPI and JSON:API standards.

Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and asynchronous processing systems (e.g., Prefect). Integrate AI models and data pipelines into backend workflows when needed. Operations & Deployment Take ownership of services all the way to production. “You build it, you run it.” Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve reliability.

Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure-based cloud environments. Quality, Automation & Culture Write testable, maintainable, well-structured code following best practices. Participate in code reviews, design conversations, and technical planning. Use Git as a version control system.

Support the team’s philosophy of “Automate everything”, while continuously refining how we work together.

Who You Are

Your Skills Strong experience with Python and backend frameworks (FastAPI preferred). Solid grasp of relational database principles and ORM best practices (SQL Alchemy/SQL Model/Pydantic). Understanding of asynchronous processing, distributed systems, or background task runners. Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (Azure or similar).

Interest in infrastructure, monitoring, and operational excellence. Your Mindset You’re motivated by reliability, performance, and clear architectural design. You enjoy debugging complex systems and improving observability. You value ownership and take responsibility for software in production.

You’re curious, open to feedback, and interested in how AI can enhance backend systems. You appreciate a security-first, pragmatic engineering culture where ideas are welcomed and discussed. Nice-to-Haves Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform). Knowledge of Kubernetes or container orchestration.

Experience

with pytest testing framework. Exposure to AI/ML frameworks, vector stores, embeddings, or LLM-powered workflows.
