Fraser Dove International is partnering exclusively with a leading biopharmaceutical organisation. Operating in Belgium, they are committed to advancing automation excellence to support biological drug substance manufacturing.

Our client is seeking a strategic leader to oversee automation activities, ensuring alignment with good engineering practices and process requirements.

Your objectives:
  • Ensure automation systems align with engineering best practices and manufacturing needs.
  • Lead troubleshooting, software improvements, and technical support for automation processes.
  • Coordinate and train automation teams to maintain high standards of performance and compliance.
What you will do:
  • Challenge process design to ensure alignment between equipment and automation systems.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering to evaluate software implementation strategies.
  • Oversee automation integrators and vendor packages during troubleshooting and interventions.
  • Lead and train the automation team to ensure expertise and operational efficiency.
  • Verify automation deliverables and anticipate cost increases.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Modify software, troubleshoot issues, and drive automation improvements.
  • Review verification protocols and manage change control processes.
  • Organise operator training to ensure seamless system handovers.
  • Support and troubleshoot installations to ensure efficient drug substance manufacturing.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Automation and/or Bio-Processes within a GMP environment.
  • Proven experience in major engineering projects, including risk and mitigation management.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing or coordinating technical teams.
  • Strong expertise in design, execution, commissioning, and validation of automation systems.
  • Ability to translate technical concerns into clear decision-making strategies.
  • Adaptability to dynamic environments and ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to constructively challenge and debate.
  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict management, and proactive mindset.
