Job Title: Electricity Market Modelling ExpertContract Duration: 12/01/2026-30/06/2026Languages Required: French or DutchWork Location: Brussels (Hybrid, 2days/week onsite)Job Description - Roles and ResponsibilitiesPerform RES integration assessmentThis task includes the usage of economic dispatch results to analyze RES curtailment and residual load time series statisticsPerform Ramping needs assessmentThis task includes the usage of economic dispatch results to analyze residual load time series hourly ramps statistics as well as analysis of the ability of relevant technologies to cope with the observed ramps.Support the Short-Term needs assessmentThis task includes the usage the usage of economic dispatch results to assess the short-term flexibility needs to cover unexpected variations of the demand, RES generation or unexpected outage of generation or transmission assets. The consultant will support the team conducting the study.Contribution to the SMA work within the 'Data preparation' and 'Report drafting' processEnsuring consistency between the task above and other relevant & complementary studies performed within SMA, namely the 10yrs Adequacy and Flexibility study and the NCC Summer Outlooks.Ensure synergies on tool and methodological developments between indicators calculated for FNA and Summer Outlooks.Contribute to the implementation of EDMR FNA methodological requirements into concrete and quantified indicators.Example of tasksUsage and improve, when possible, tools in R/Python/VBA/Excel in order to extract efficiently hourly outputs from the team's simulation toolsCritically analyze hourly data including residual load time series and economic dispatch outputsCalculate relevant hourly, daily and seasonal statistics following the EMDR methodology requirements for RES integration, Ramping needs and Short-Term needs.Prepare relevant 'visuals' to present and analyze the results of the different indicators following the EMDR FNA methodology.Requirements:Minimum 3 years of relevant experienceR or PythonExcelVBAANTARES (mainly the input/output interface but also a general knowledge of economic dispatch tool is a 'nice to have')You have knowledge of and interest in the energy market
